North Yorkshire Head of School Improvement Award.

We are very pleased to report that CYPS won one of the coveted County Council Innovations Awards at the ceremony held on Thursday 7th December. The Role of the Service Pupils’ Champions, created to support families from our Armed Forces communities, won the ‘Improving the Customer Experience’ category. Initially created in 2012 by Matt Blyton alongside the then Ripon and Rural Partnership, the job has since expanded to cover the whole county and has evolved to include coordinating projects for service pupils, their schools and families – such as the annual Remembrance Service at Ripon Cathedral and Armed Forces Day celebration as well as providing training. In recent years, George Tyson has also supported the work of the Champions. Funded through successful MoD Education Support Grant bids, Annabel Hall and Nickie Young (the current job-share post-holders) moved into the Prevention Service in September with a view to building sustainability into the future.

Congratulations to all involved!
