Badge Up for Armed Forces Day

The Plymouth Armed Forces Day Badge competition was won by Evan Craig, aged 7. His design celebrates the day and the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force. The badge will be on sale during Armed Forces Week, from the Plymouth Tourist Information Centre, on the Barbican, and from the MKC Heroes marquee, on the Hoe on Armed Forces Day. The badge costs £3 and all the money raised will go to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

The winner of the 2018 Plymouth Armed Forces Day Badge Competition, sponsored by MKC Heroes, is proud of his RAF inspired design. Evan Craig, aged 7, said, ‘I chose Smeaton’s Tower as you see it on all things to do with Plymouth and I chose the RAF Red Arrows as they do spectacular displays.’

Evan’s badge will be on sale from later this week, in the Tourist Information Centre (TiC), the Barbican, Plymouth, and on Armed Forces Day from the MKC Heroes marquee in the Royal Navy Village.

In addition, MKC Heroes Ambassadors will be selling the badge in Morrisons, Plymstock, during Armed Forces Week. The badges are £3 with all of this going to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Well done Evan and thank you TiC and Morrisons for your support.
